“Everybody has their Everest” – Shane Benzie
For some it might be beating their Parkrun PB, for others it might be an FKT on an Ultra. We all want to apply ourselves, mind and body, to see marginal gains in whatever measures we set and feel the joy of running more effortlessly and enjoyably.
And the measures that we set are very different to us all. It’s an important distinction. In 2021 we will be launching the Running Reborn Training Guides. In all probability we are more likely to name them Missions, primarily because we are aiming to design and provide ways of enabling everyone to climb their own Everest. And this may well be a mission that is time and distance related, but it might also be a climb that is technique related. Remember, we see each aspect of the Running Reborn technique, when played together as a symphony or language, and some of our runners may well want to perfect a technique so that run more fluently and fluidly, rather than beat a distance time.
There are of course our social media groups, where Shane will be regularly sharing tips, films, respond to runners’ queries on how to master these techniques, but we will, wherever possible keep layering in technique tips to members through every channel possible.
We will also remind you at every opportunity in these Missions that whilst practicing alone is sometimes the only way we can blend our busy daily lives with our pursuit of running beautifully, we must buddy up, talk to our running buddies, share film, ask for feedback on technique. Let your running friends also be part of your performance gains.
These Guides and Missions will enable you to apply whatever time and performance goals you wish. And yes they will cover some of the more often requested distance related guides, 10km to Marathon, but they will inevitably have a Running Reborn philosophy embedded into them.
We look forward to sharing them in early 2021.
